Earth, Metal, Fire, Wood, and Water are the fundamental elements on which the concept is based. The history of the city and the surrounding rural landscape are heavily influenced by metal production and processing. The element EARTH corresponds to the history of the city, METAL stands for metalworking in the area, FIRE stands for wars and fires that have plagued the city, WOOD stands for rafting, and WATER for the energy source used here.
Each element is assigned a volume and a color:
Earth = Cube, Yellow
Metal = Dome, Gray
Fire = Pyramid, Red
Wood = Cylinder, Green
Water = Organic shape, Blue
"5 Elements, 50 Experiments, 500 Objects" is the museum's slogan. The 50 experiments – spread throughout the entire tour – provide a tangible representation of the content for young and old alike.
