The state exhibition of the federal state of Lower Austria was presented at two locations: the theme of Fire in the Rothschild Castle of Waidhofen an der Ybbs, restored by Arch. Hans Hollein; the theme of Earth in the Renaissance Castle of St. Peter in der Au. Both locations were each marked with a landmark.
Information, activity, objects, and staging are fused into a unity in this exhibition, through which visitors glide in amazement, without realizing that they are in an exhibition of art historical objects. They are meant to move through the theme like "Alice in Wonderland" and let everything they see, hear, and feel become a complete experience for the senses through their own imagination. The message does not come across as heavy and didactic, but light-hearted, with a wink.
