A perfect description for a decade characterized by rapid speed and profound upheavals. The focus is on the changes that can be observed in Bavaria despite all conservative persistence. It is about tradition and modernity, the differences between city and countryside, and the reasons that led to the failure of democracy in Bavaria. The poster motif: a fast car, a photographing man, and the legendary Josephine Baker – three symbols for the pace of the time. The period of fundamental upheaval after the end of the First World War.

The exhibition hall is spanned by a continuous film projection, pure movement, everything revolves around the centrally positioned four thematic areas. Wherever you stand, you are accompanied by moving images. ...And, of course, Paul Renner's groundbreaking Futura typeface runs throughout the entire exhibition. A black "runway" winds through the middle of the hall, with all the exhibits parading on it; whether flat goods, automobile or vacuum cleaner, whether gramophone or emergency money, a long "showcase" of objects accompanies the visitors through the parcours. The beginning of the exhibition is designed as an opening bright area, ...hope for a new era! The end, on the other hand, is accompanied by compressed, folded, menacing-looking wall panels, ...a global crisis is looming.
